As part of RuNoFest 2026, MosFocus magazine met with Larisa Solnechnaya—the only designer-chocolatier in Russia. During the conversation, she spoke about her unusual creative journey and innovative approaches in the world of fashion.
Special attention was paid to the designer’s unique line of work—creating clothing elements and accessories coated in natural chocolate. According to Larisa, the idea of combining fashion and confectionery art came to her thanks to her experience in aromapsychology.
The designer shared an interesting fact: chocolate not only adorns outfits, but also creates a special atmosphere at shows. “Chocolate is the hormone of happiness and joy,” Larisa notes. She recounted a funny incident when one of the models couldn’t resist and ate a chocolate crown.
During the interview, Larisa presented her new collection, created from historical cloth produced at a factory dating back to 1802. The designer emphasised that her work is distinguished not only by its originality, but also by its practicality, and the new collection is especially feminine and elegant.
The meeting with Larisa Solnechnaya showed how traditional materials and contemporary ideas can harmoniously combine in the world of haute couture, creating truly unique works of art.
