In an exclusive interview with MosFocus magazine correspondent Taya Nova, Ruslan Chernobaev, founder of the prestigious ADD Awards, shared the story behind the creation of the project.
According to Chernobaev, the idea to establish the award was not spontaneous—it was initiated by architects themselves. The professional community approached him with a request to develop a platform where results would be as transparent and objective as possible, and the evaluation of works would be based solely on professional criteria.
During the conversation, the founder revealed his main working principle: thorough planning and well-considered decisions. “Think seven times, act once”—that’s his approach to any project, which is especially important in a field where mistakes can be costly.
Particular attention in the interview was given to the current stage of the award’s development. Chernobaev noted that the awards ceremony marks the end of the annual cycle. Exactly one year ago, the results of the tenth season were summed up, and now the eleventh is coming to a close. The founder emphasized that all participants can expect a bright event with well-deserved awards for the winners and positive emotions for everyone present.
