Magic of Art Deco evening — glamorous celebration in the Marriott Imperial Plaza

On September 21, the five-star hotel Marriott Imperial Plaza transformed into a portal to the past for one enchanting evening. As part of the international project “Connection of Eras,” the spectacular event “MAGIC OF ART DECO” immersed guests in a world of exquisite luxury, sensual rhythms, and an aesthetic that continues to inspire a century later.

The Triumph of Three Dates

The evening celebrated three significant dates: the centenary of Art Deco, the Global Day of Russian Unity, and the International Day of Peace. These themes enriched the program, which featured discussions on iconic women of the era and an exhibition by contemporary Russian artists. Ivan Vyacheslavovich Safronov, founder of MosFocus magazine and rector of the Institute of Digital Photography, introduced his international publication, focusing on culture, business, fashion, and sports.

Rhythms of the Jazz Age

The heart of the evening was the music. The EXTRA-TIME JAZZ BAND masterfully recreated the sound of the Jazz Age. The enchanting saxophone solo, velvety double bass tones, elegant key harmony, mesmerizing drum rhythms, and soulful vocals captivated the audience. The show duo “SISTERS KELLY” delivered an energetic performance with a number from “Chicago”. At the same time, dance club “MAESTRO” enthralled guests with passionate tango, graceful foxtrot, romantic waltz, and lively Charleston. A tap dance masterclass by Valeria Okhotnitskaya added fire and excitement to the proceedings.

Fashion as Art: A Dialogue of Eras

A central highlight of the evening was the Fashion Theater, where the past met the present. Hat designer Lilia Fisher, a participant in fashion weeks in Milan, Paris, and London, presented her collection “Ode to the Jazz Era.” Guests eagerly modeled the charming headpieces, capturing stylish photos. The theatrical display of evening gowns “With Love to Chanel” by designer Anna Lebedeva, in collaboration with accessory brand Elen Beisembaeva, echoed scenes from classic cinema. The show featured exquisite evening outfits from the brand STASIA&STASYA by designer Anastasia Mishina, celebrating pure and elegant femininity. The fashion show was organized by SLAVA MODELS under the guidance of Aelita Kocharova.

An Art Labyrinth for the Senses

An exhibition showcasing contemporary artists served as another bridge between the eras. Firstly, guests learned to tie silk scarves from BÜBER. Then, they tried on delicate handmade jewelry from GAYA GRIG. Next, they marveled at the art reliefs of artist Mikhail Morozov. Additionally, they admired the ceramic flowers from Yekaterina Gladilina (brand EGceramice). Finally, they explored the art objects made of copper by artist Natalia Lavrentyeva, the founder of the Greenery Art Market.

Meanwhile, the Gingerbread Stories workshop “KRUZHEVA” transformed the legendary works of Erté into sweet souvenirs. Moreover, the enchanting fragrances from THEATRE des PARFUMS FRANCE wove an invisible thread of sophistication into the atmosphere.

As the evening concluded, Lucia Roschevkina, the head of the International Project “Connection of Eras,” awarded diplomas to partners and artists. Furthermore, this ceremony marked the successful end of a remarkable celebration that bridged the past and the present. In addition, the event highlighted the timeless beauty and elegance of Art Deco, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.

This celebration demonstrated that the magic of Art Deco is very much alive. Moreover, its geometric elegance, bold sensuality, and unyielding energy of jazz continue to resonate in the contemporary world. As a result, it inspires a desire to surround ourselves with beauty.
