During her interview with MosFocus magazine, Natalia Sovetskaya shared details about her creative work. The designer spoke about how she balances working on other people’s projects with creating her own collections.
According to Natalia, her workday begins with atelier tasks—she sews garments for other designers and clients. She works on her own collection at night, and the process takes from three to six months. The designer noted that some pieces can be created in a month, but the process often requires changes and adjustments.
Sovetskaya sincerely admitted her love for her work and shared an important observation: when a person enjoys what they do, they stop viewing it as routine. In her opinion, everyone should learn to find joy in their profession.
Speaking about the trends for 2026, the designer highlighted several key directions. The main trend is authenticity — moving away from basic collections in favor of individual style. Sovetskaya emphasized the importance of consciousness in fashion and rejecting blind copying of other people’s styles.
The designer paid special attention to the trend of handmade work , noting that in the era of artificial intelligence, the ability to create something with your own hands becomes especially valuable. She actively promotes learning sewing skills and believes that working with your hands is cool.
At the end of the conversation, Natalia confirmed her participation in the next season of “Fashion Wave,” noting that she is already working on her 2027 collection.
