  1. Daria, you have participated in fashion shows several times. How did you start your modeling career and what inspired you to take this path?

My career shift began when I experienced burnout in my primary field as a manicure and pedicure master. I started exploring areas that genuinely interested me—those that energized me and that I loved to engage in for pleasure. Prior to this, I had been invited to numerous TFP (Time for Print) photoshoots, which I enjoyed, but it was more of a hobby. I went through a personal unpacking process, answering questions about my childhood dreams and passions. I had always wanted to become a model; I watched fashion shows with bated breath and flipped through fashion magazines as a child. That nostalgic yearning led me to enroll in a modeling agency.

  1. What are some of the most memorable moments from your modeling career?

Interestingly, my first runway experience is one I will never forget, even though it was negative. Due to a misunderstanding between the organizers and the designer, I never actually got to walk in my first show. Initially, I was quite disappointed—I thought it was odd to miss out on my first chance like that. However, I believe that everything happens for a reason. Instead of dwelling on that experience, I reassured myself that it was for the best, and eventually, I ended up participating in the Aesthetic Fashion Week show. That was a different level of experience! Wearing a wedding dress created such a delicate and bold look that filled me with energy. I couldn’t sleep until 4 AM; it was utterly exhilarating. Another notable moment was in November 2024 during another show at Aesthetic Fashion featuring designer Ekaterina Gushan and the brand Stephanie Monaco. The energy at that event was exceptional, and the designer brought such power to the runway.

  1. You also own a beauty salon. Did you start your salon before or after entering your modeling career?

I was already involved in modeling before opening my salon. However, my 15 years of experience as a beauty master and the head of a studio preceded the salon. As I mentioned, I experienced burnout in my primary profession. In considering my next steps, I contemplated whether to open a school and teach as a manicure and pedicure instructor or to start a salon. While exploring my identity in various roles—photographer, model, and host of transformational games—I eventually eased off the idea of the salon. Surprisingly, these paths intertwined.

  1. Can you tell us about the concept of your salon? What makes it unique compared to others?

We pride ourselves on a stable team, professionalism, certified materials, a family-oriented atmosphere, a wide range of services, and an individual approach toward every guest.

  1. How has your modeling experience assisted you in managing the salon?

Modeling has helped me develop expressiveness, confidence, and self-assurance. When you believe in yourself, it becomes easier to manage a team. If someone lacks confidence, they won’t be perceived as a leader. There are many overlaps between these fields—beauty services and modeling relate to style and image, which are vital in advertising.

  1. How do you choose your salon team? What qualities are essential?

Key qualities include professionalism, attention to detail, punctuality, a positive attitude, effective communication skills with clients, and the desire to grow.

  1. How do you evaluate the current trends in the fashion industry, and how do they impact your business?

Current fashion trends inspire us and motivate us to continue improving and learning. They provide a canvas for creativity in our salon, allowing us to offer our guests stylish solutions. We stay updated with trends, ensuring our specialists constantly enhance their skills and adopt innovations so that our services remain at the forefront of fashion.

  1. How do you see the future of modeling and the fashion industry as a whole in the next five years?

I envision a more diverse and inclusive modeling and fashion industry in the next five years. Technology will play a crucial role; AI is gaining momentum… I hope new approaches to beauty and style will help reveal each person’s uniqueness.

  1. Can you share your thoughts on the importance of a sustainable fashion business?

A sustainable fashion business is more than a trend; it’s a necessity. We all bear responsibility for our planet. I strive to ensure that my salon utilizes eco-friendly products and maintains ethical practices. We position ourselves as an eco-friendly and vegan salon, and we use dyes and materials in our work that are cruelty-free. We also collaborate with the “Second Breath” foundation for collecting items for recycling and support animal shelters and other needy organizations.

  1. What are the key principles that guide you as a businesswoman and a model?

My key principles as a businesswoman are honesty, creativity, and a pursuit of excellence. I believe in the power of collaboration and the inspiration we can derive from one another.

  1. How do you maintain a balance between personal life and career?

I believe in setting boundaries and finding time for myself. I try to plan my schedule in advance, ensuring I allocate time not only for work but also for relaxation and socializing with friends, spending time with my children, and engaging in activities I love (yoga, sports, dance, psychology, modeling, aromatherapy, etc.). This practice helps me recharge my energy, keeps my spirits high, and prevents burnout, allowing me to maintain a fresh perspective in my work.

  1. What advice would you give to young models and entrepreneurs just starting their journeys in this field?

Don’t be afraid to try new things and experiment at the beginning of your journey. Remember that mistakes are experiences—a part of the learning process and achievement. Focus on honing your skills, remain open to feedback, and understand the importance of networking and building connections within the industry.

  1. What future projects or collaborations do you have in mind as a model and business owner?

I have plans for collaborations with designers, photographers, makeup artists, and stylists. We could organize joint photoshoots or themed events that merge fashion and beauty. Additionally, I’m considering offering workshops on style and self-care in the salon.

  1. In your opinion, what are the key skills necessary for success in the fashion industry?

Confidence, presence, energy, adaptability to a fast-changing environment, and the ability to connect with people in the industry are critical skills. Creativity and teamwork are also vital, as successful runway shows require collaboration between models and other professionals—stylists, photographers, and designers.

  1. What role do social media play in your business and personal career?

For me, social media are not just platforms for promoting my business; they are also a means of personal self-identification. I use social media to share my experiences, attract clients to the salon, and showcase my work. They also help me stay connected with my fans and keep up with the latest trends in the industry.
