At Moscow Fashion Week, MosFocus met stylist Nastya Cherny. She spoke about her career, her work with high-profile clients and the creative principles behind her distinctive looks.
From experimenting with clothes to a styling career
Nastya’s interest in fashion began in childhood. She enjoyed experimenting with clothes and creating different looks. Later, her passion moved to Instagram. A turning point came with the Burning Man festival, which helped launch her journey into personal and celebrity styling.
Today, her projects include working with Alana Mamaeva. However, Nastya believes that a stylist’s approach should not depend on a client’s public profile. Every person deserves the same high standard of service and attention to individual needs.
Creating memorable looks
Nastya enjoys combining femininity with rougher, grunge-inspired elements. She also draws inspiration from Asian aesthetics, expressive accessories and unexpected combinations. These details help her create looks with a distinctive character.
Yet styling is not only about creativity. Tight deadlines are also part of the profession. For one fashion-week look, items from a brand had to be delivered from Tyumen in a single evening. Such situations require resourcefulness, flexibility and the ability to find solutions quickly.
Why genuine interest matters
Nastya is open to the possibility of launching her own clothing brand in the future. For now, she encourages people to explore what truly interests them and build their path around that passion.
“Doing something you’re not interested in is a losing game.”
Her story shows that a career in fashion can grow from curiosity, experimentation and a willingness to keep learning.
