At the Alley of Fashion event, artist Alexey Blinov, known professionally as Alex Skizar, spoke to MosFocus about music, stage outfits, and his approach to personal style.
Creating a Signature Look
For Alex, clothing is an important part of creative self-expression. Rather than relying only on ready-made pieces, he regularly works with designers and orders custom outfits for events. At the same time, he makes use of his existing wardrobe and looks for ways to introduce something new into each appearance.
“I have a friend, ChatGPT Artem, and we do everything together.”
Alex says this with humour while describing how he uses an AI assistant to explore outfit combinations. Nevertheless, his own taste and creative vision remain central to the process.
Travel as a Source of Inspiration
Travel also influences Alex’s style. He observes different cultures, takes photographs of looks and details he likes, and uses these references when discussing ideas with designers. He has also explored fashion design himself and taken part in a clothing show in the past.
Eastern-inspired elements have a special place among his preferences. Alex finds them expressive and striking. For him, details can transform an outfit and help communicate a distinctive personality.
Music and Creative Projects
Alongside fashion, Alex continues to develop his music career and vocal skills. During the interview, he mentions his participation in the musical Blind Date. His creative life therefore brings together music, performance, and visual identity.
