At the World Dance Festival Russia 2026, MosFocus magazine’s special correspondent Taya Nova met with the artistic director of the “Magnifica Show Dance” choreography studio, Svetlana Gavrilova.
During the conversation, Gavrilova shared that this was the group’s debut at the festival. The choreographer expressed her gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to open the event with their dance performance and mentioned plans to apply again next year.
The interview paid special attention to the creative process. According to Svetlana, preparing for performances is a unique journey for each routine. Sometimes inspiration comes quickly, while at other times, it takes a long time to create a composition. Everything starts with a musical idea or costume concept, around which the choreography is built.
The group’s dancers shared their emotions about performing on the big stage, noting its impressive size and the high level of event organization.
At the end of the conversation, Svetlana Gavrilova spoke about the group’s plans. This year, “Magnifica Show Dance” is celebrating its 25th anniversary. In just a week, they are scheduled to tour Nizhny Novgorod, and in the near future, they have performances planned in Moscow and the Moscow region. The group also dreams of international tours.
